First update for the site and the game is finally playable. Get it here! The revision 1.0 of glwars can be called a game, finally. The main changes are the constantly increasing difficulty and the firing system. You can now fire by holding down the left mouse button and aim by moving the mouse. A major improvement from the previous mouse-tapping scheme! At next update i will  improve the particle effects greatly, current effects where my first attempt into a particle system and it's a quick configuration so my game can have some decent explosion effects.

Apart from programming the game, I had spent a lot of time on my ps3. I changed my linux distro, from ydl to fedora. I wanted the cellsdk 2.1 which isn't compatible with ydl. Setting up my new environment had been tiring me for 2-3 afternoons. Finally it works but it caused one side effect. I think that I hear sounds :P I think that I hear the ps3's hdd cylinder head.  A quick tip to anyone who wants to install fedora core 6 on his / her ps3 : Don't follow the of tutorials which suggest to make a minimum install, go for the full install and delete packages after ;)

This page goes live. The page will serve as a host for the beginning of my global domination through the release of another geometry wars clone. Version 0.5 beta can be found here. (Not any more)

The project started as an assignment for the Graphics Lab at my University a year ago. I had made a crappy, buggy, ugly game back then. I decided to continue working on the project as a hobby after I handed it to the professor. It has passed through a lot of changes and its current version is released so you can take a glimpse of the work. I don't think it can be called a game right now, but for previewing purposes it is ok i suppose. It needs a lot of work in multiple areas like the particle effects, the AI etc and one major engine upgrade so I am not sure when and IF I am going to do it. Anyway, take a look at it and leave you comments if you want here

This page may host other game development content later, like a 3D Engine I am currently working at as my final year project. There is also a plan to port the game to ps3 but I need to learn to efficiently utilize the Cell. So many plans, so little time...

Have fun,

muku ;)
